Dispel Your Kids Boredom By Doing Origami

18 APR 2016 | AUTHOR: JEN | ★ DIY+CRAFTS

My eldest daughter (nearly 6) has taken a keen interest in paper folding. Thanks to my husband who started it all by making paper airplanes for her. On odd weekends, they will sit down together, use up our scrap paper that was destined for the recycling and build a fleet of paper airplanes and recently, she's been free flowing, folding paper up a storm making animal corner bookmarks and a paper finger game. This is something that I want to encourage so I went online to find out more.
Today I am sharing the videos that I've compiled for her (also for our family activity - we will do paper folding this weekend) so she can further her interest in origami and create wonderful art and memories along the way. Watch the videos below and see an ordinary piece of paper transformed into a three-dimensional cuteness.

Star

Dog

Fortune Teller (Paper finger game)

Bird

Rabbit

Frog

Fox

Corner Bookmarks

Bear Face

Paper-folding (origami) can be a fabulous way to entertain your kiddos. Cheap, engrossing and most of all it is a wonderful family activity, also a fabulous opportunity for kids to stretch their creativity and imagination.

Fish

Mouse

Butterfly

Airplane

Box

Crown

Entertaining your kids can be a tricky business at the best of times, and it's even more difficult while travelling, tackling long flights or the dreadful 2-hour car journey. You can encourage them to do origami especially when they plead boredom. You only need to bring paper in your kids travelling kit, how cool is that? Enjoy folding papers. xx - Jen
